Order FAQ's

How can I pay?

Payment can be made in a number of ways. The most popular way is through PayPal. PayPal is secure and fast which is why most prefer this option. You can also pay by debit or credit card or if you are local, you can pay cash on collection. Our last option is to pay by Bank Transfer, however we will not dispatch your order until funds have cleared in our account which may delay the order process. We may require you to pay by Bank Transfer if your spend is over £1000 and your location is outside of the EU.

Do I have to send you my certificate before I can order?

Although our products are only for fully qualified professional use, we do not require you to send us your certification before ordering. When you make an order, this constitutes that you are confirming to us that you are qualified and that LashBase hold no liability for incorrect use due to not being professionally trained for the products in question.

Can I make my order in person?

Yes you can. We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. You can visit us during any of our open hours and make an order when you get here. If you make an order for collection, your order will be ready for picking up within 2 hours of placing it.

Regulation FAQs

Do LashBase products meet safety regulations?

Yes they do.

If the products you are using do not meet Regulation (EC) 1223/2009. Your insurance will not cover you and you are risking the health of your clients.

In brief, from 11th July 2013 it is an offence to supply cosmetic products anywhere in Europe which may cause damage to human health when applied under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use.

All Cosmetic Products and are subject to the regulation. Some of the many requirements of this regulation include: The product must be labelled correctly. Which must include the manufacturers name, contact details of the responsible person or body, country of origin, use by date, list of ingredients and other required information on health risks and safety measures.

The product must have a full safety assessment carried out by a properly qualified person. Okay these cost hundreds of pounds for each product and it’s what stops most suppliers. We have 20+ signed sealed and delivered by the UK’s leading safety assessors. The product cannot have been tested on animals. Naturally we have followed this policy through our own choice.

At LashBase Limited we make every attempt possible to be sure the products we sell are compliant. Regulations change regularly and we are always monitoring the information to keep us and you up to date.

Do you offer regular promotions and discounts?
Yes. We regularly have our very popular Facebook Discount Day which offers 20% off of your order. To make sure you do not miss out, please like us on Facebook and keep checking our page regularly to ensure you catch the date. We have them at random and tend to give around 5 days notice so it is best to check before placing an order.

We also offer random flash sales on popular items which will be advertised on our site and throughout our social channels. We do not like anyone missing out so we try to advertise the promotions as best we can.

What are the exclusions for your discount days?

Refectocil, Barbicide, Filecide, Glamcor, Sale, Kits and Clearance products are all excluded. This is because the brands pricing is set by them and not us which means we cannot reduce them further or the products in question are already heavily discounted (sale, kits and clearance). The codes provided cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional code you may have. Offers run 00:01-23:59 UK time unless stated. If you have a problem with a code or making an order please email sales@lashbase.co.uk during the promotional period (not after) so we can honour your discount the next day. The free shipping is for UK, Highlands/Islands only.

Lash FAQ's

What is the best adhesive to use?

This question is one of the most frequently asked. Many think the answer is simple, but it is not! There is no such thing as ‘the best adhesive’ as it comes down to personal preference, personal skill level, speed of application and the client you have. The best advice we can give is that you should test different adhesives until you find the right one that works FOR YOU.

As a guideline, our Sensitive adhesive has no fume or odour and tends to dry a bit slower. This is perfect for 2 occasions, if you are a beginner or if you have a particular client with sensitive eyes. The Extreme Plus adhesive is our Fastest and strongest adhesive which rivals (and beats) many on the market today. If you are an experienced technician and want an ultra professional adhesive then this is the one for you.

But like we said, trial and error is key to finding the best adhesive for you. So get yourself a mannequin head or even a patient friend and get practicing.

How do I store my adhesive?

The correct temperature for your Eyelash Adhesive to work at it’s best is room temperature (approx 20°C). The adhesive is cured by moisture in the air. Imagine a cold can of drink coming out of the fridge into a warm humid salon, you can see the amount of condensation it attracts very quickly. Your adhesive will react in the same way if removed from a cold environment and placed into a warm humid room. This condensation will have a quick and very negative affect on the glue. Storage: Unopened bottles should be stored in a cool place such as a refrigerator; do not freeze the adhesive. Once the bottle has been opened, always put the lid back on after use and keep at room temperature (approx 20°C). It is not advisable to put the adhesive back into the fridge as condensation formation may damage the adhesive. Over time (some weeks to months) the adhesive changes its viscosity. This could cause problems, but strengths should be sufficient. When in doubt dispose of the adhesive. When applying the adhesive, if it pulls strings then there will be problems. The adhesive should be thrown away and a fresh batch used. Avoid leaving the adhesive in direct sunlight as the glue will be too hot to attract the desired amount of moisture and the curing process will be delayed.

What is the difference between Mink and Silk Lashes?
The difference between a Mink lash and Silk lash is in the manufacturing process, both of them are made of the same synthetic PBT material. The design of the Mink eyelash produces a softer and lighter lash than the silk eyelashes.

Mink lashes taper starts almost immediately, where the taper of the Silk lash starts from the middle. Our Mink lashes also have one more step in the manufacturing process, the additional step is to steam the lash with a fabric conditioning softener before rolling the curl. All of our lashes are Mink as we believe them to be superior to silk. All our lashes are fully synthetic.

What are Synthetic Mink eyelashes?

Our “Synthetic Mink” Eyelashes are made from Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) materials which are light and flexible with a fine sheen. They have micro pores in the surface to help lash glues bond well. We call them “Synthetic Mink Lashes” because they mimic the shape of real mink and also calling them “Polybutylene Terephthalate Lashes” doesn’t have the same ring to it.

Waxing FAQS

What is the difference between hot & warm wax?

Hot wax is spread thickly onto the skin and allowed to dry slightly before its gently peeled away. The benefits include fewer in-grown hairs, less breakage and therefore longer re-growth periods. The wax also promotes the skin hydration and is highly recommended for sensitive areas. Warm wax is recommended for thicker/less sensitive skin, for example legs, arms, back , chest and shoulders. A thin layer of wax is applied to the skin and is then removed using a paper strip.

How long does hair have to be to wax?

The ideal length is about a centimetre – but anything half a centimetre or more should work fine. If the hair is longer, just leave it and we will quickly clipper it down before waxing, to the correct length. As a guide, if you shave leave about 3 weeks without shaving before your wax appointment.

How long does it take hair to grow back after waxing?

Unlike shaving, waxing removes the entire hair, which, with consistent waxing, may then take up to eight weeks to grow back. Hair that has been shaved may grow back feeling more coarse and looking darker — but the hair that grows back after waxing often feels softer and appears lighter than it did before.

Nail FAQs

Do PNP soak off gels damage or weaken your nails?

PNP Soak off gels should not damage or weaken your nails if applied & removed correctly, it will actually have the opposite affect by providing extra strength and help prevent your nails from ripping and breaking. Correct removal is paramount to nail health. Don’t chisel, chip, file or peel your polish off as doing this could damage your nails. Use an orange stick to aid in the removal if needed, but don’t use tools that will damage your nail beds.  Also, be careful not to over-buff your nails prior to applying the soak off gels.

What is the difference between Soak Off Gels and Acrylics?

Soak Off Gels are applied to the natural nail, a very thin application that will soak off with acetone in usually under 10 minutes. This is meant to be a replacement for nail polish application during a regular manicure. They dry under a UV or LED lamp.

Acrylic is a liquid & powder mixed, applied with a brush and will harden (cure) with no need for lamps in 2 minutes or less. Colour acrylic powders can be used for all kinds of effects and art.
