10 Top Tips that Every Lash Artist Should Know
We’re not gatekeeping here! We asked Anna (our product developer and resident lash QUEEN) what THE top 10 tips are that every lash artist should know to make their lives easier. Here’s what she said:
Lash Technique Tips
1. Taping up lash layers: This technique provides better visibility and control when working with multiple lash layers.
2. Isolating with both tweezers: For precision and ease, use two tweezers to separate individual lashes before application rather than trying to isolate with one hand.
3. Ask the client to turn their head at certain points: By getting your client to turn their head, you’ll get better access to the outer corners for accurate lash placement.
Lash Workstation
4. Invest in a stable lash workstation: Use a lash workstation like this one to provide a solid, level surface. This will stop your lash tile moving around during fanning and glue dipping.
5. Positioning: Make sure you position your knees under the lash bed to improve your posture and prevent hunching over your client causing discomfort in your back.
Client Care and Lash Retention
6. Soothe sensitive eyes: Using microfoam tape under the eyes on sensitive clients can help reduce watering and discomfort. It also helps keep moisture under the pads which will stop the tears flooding the lashes.
7. Perfect inner corner placement: Gently stretch and manipulate the eyelid with tape to improve access and achieve flawless inner corner lashes.
8. Volume tweezer clean: Regularly cleaning your volume tweezers with tweezer cleaner prevents glue build-up and means you can create cleaner fans.
9. Prioritise lash health: Do a lash bath on every client to promote the best lash health and extend retention.
Lash Business Management
10. Streamline your bookings: Use a reliable booking system to efficiently manage appointments and make it easier for clients to book in with you.
