Lifted. with Cysteamine Guidelines
Lifted. with Cysteamine can be used in a number of different ways and for most lash lifting and brow lamination techniques.
Below, we explain how to prepare the products for each lash lifting and brow lamination method, along with a step-by-step guide for each technique.

Powder Ratios
If mixing the powder with the Cysteamine system, it requires more than simply adding a small amount and
proceeding with the treatment.
As part of your consultation, you should have thoroughly assessed your client’s natural lashes.
Based on your findings, such as whether the lashes are fine, medium, or thick, use the table
below to determine the appropriate mixing ratios.
Traditional Lash Lift Step-by-Step
1. Prepare your workstation
Set up your lash trolley with everything you need for your client. Wash and sanitise your hands.
2. Position your client
Ensure your client is lying comfortably on the treatment couch in the correct position. For additional comfort, place a wedge under their knees to support their lower back, as they will be lying down for an extended period.
3. Cleanse the lashes
Using Lifted. Cleansing Pads, clean the lashes thoroughly. Follow with Lifted. Lash & Brow Primer to remove any remaining dirt or oils. Ensure the lashes are completely clean and dry before continuing.
4. Apply the eye pads
Ask your client to look upwards. Position the eye pads securely over the lower lashes to protect the eyes and lower lashes.
5. Select and apply the shield
Select the correct shield for your client and their desired result. Apply Lifted. Adhesive along the underside of the shield. Wait a few seconds, then position the shield onto the client’s eyelid, ensuring it sits as close to the lash line as possible. Hold securely until the adhesive sets. If using Lifted. Glueless Shields, you can skip the adhesive application.
6. Wrap the lashes onto the shield
Working in small sections, apply a thin amount of adhesive along the edge of the shield. Using the Lifted. Lash Lift Comb or Y Comb, gently lift the lashes from the root and wrap them onto the shield until they adhere securely. Ensure all lashes are straight, evenly spaced, and free from crossing. Repeat on the other eye.
7. Apply Step 1 – Lifting Solution with Cysteamine
Dispense a small amount of Step 1 – Lifting Solution into a palette or mixing dish. Using an applicator wand or brush, apply the solution to the whole lash, starting approximately 1 mm away from the lash root and working through to the tips. Leave Step 1 to process (refer to timing guidelines)
8. Remove Step 1 – Lifting Solution with Cysteamine
Once the processing time is complete, remove all traces of Step 1 using a clean, dry cotton bud or applicator brush. Follow with a slightly damp cotton bud to ensure all visible product has been removed.
9. Check and realign the lashes
During Step 1, the lashes may stretch slightly and change position. Carefully re-comb the lashes onto the shield, ensuring they are straight, separated and sitting tightly against the shield. If any lashes have lifted away from the shield, apply a small amount of adhesive to secure them back into position.
10. Apply Step 2 – Fixing Solution
Dispense Step 2 – Fixing Solution into a clean palette or mixing dish. Apply Step 2 to the whole lash, starting approximately 1 mm away from the lash root and working through to the tips. Leave Step 2 to process (refer to timing guidelines)
11. Remove Step 2 – Fixing Solution
Once the processing time is complete, gently remove Step 2 using a clean, dry cotton bud or applicator brush, ensuring all traces of the Fixing Solution have been removed.
12. Prepare and apply the tint – Optional
If tinting, mix Shaped. Tint with developer and apply evenly to the lashes from root to tip using an applicator brush or wand. Allow the tint to develop for 5 minutes.
13. Remove the tint and shields
Gently scoop away excess tint using an applicator brush. Using damp cotton buds, carefully wipe across the lashes and underneath the shields. Carefully ease the shields away from the eyelids and remove the eye pads. Using damp cotton pads, remove any remaining tint. If required, shampoo and rinse the lashes to completely remove any remaining tint and adhesive residue.
14. Apply Step 3 – Enriching Solution
Pat the lashes dry with a tissue. Dispense Step 3 – Enriching Solution and apply evenly through the lashes using an applicator wand. Brush through the lashes to separate them and create a soft, finished result. Advise the client to leave Step 3 on the lashes for 12 hours.
15. Complete the treatment
Give the client a handheld mirror to see their finished results. Provide the appropriate aftercare advice and rebook their next appointment.

Korean Lash Lift Step-by-Step
1. Prepare your workstation

Cleanse the eye area and natural lashes using lash shampoo or a Lifted Cleansing Pad to remove any dirt, oil or makeup residue. Dry the lashes with a tissue or fan until fully dry.
4. Apply the eye pads
Ask your client to look upwards. Position the eye pads securely over the lower lashes to protect the eyes and lower lashes.
Optional: Apply Barrier Balm
Using an applicator wand or cotton bud, apply a thin layer of Barrier Balm along the lash line to help protect the skin.
5. Apply the Ultra Thin Shield
Secure the Ultra Thin Shield into position.
6A. Wrap the lashes onto the shield and apply Step 1 – Lifting Solution with Cysteamine. ADHESIVE BALM.
[if using powder, go to step 6B]
Apply a small amount of Adhesive Balm to the shield. Using the Double-Ended Y Tool, gently lift the lashes from the root and wrap them onto the shield. Ensure all lashes are straight, evenly spaced and free from crossing.
Dispense a small amount of Step 1 – Lifting Solution into a palette or mixing dish. Start your processing timer now that you are about to apply the solution.
Using an applicator wand, apply Step 1 from approximately 1 mm away from the lash root through to the tips, ensuring each lash is evenly saturated.
Check the lashes regularly for readiness.
OR
6B. Wrap the lashes onto the shield and apply Step 1 – Lifting Solution with Cysteamine. LASH LIFT POWDER.
Dispense and mix the recommended ratio of Lifted. Lash Lift Powder with Step 1 into a palette or mixing dish. Refer to the mixing ratio.
Start your processing timer now that you are about to apply the solution. Using the Double-Ended Y Tool, gently lift the lashes from the root and wrap them onto the shield. Ensure all lashes are straight, evenly spaced and free from crossing.
Using an applicator wand, apply Step 1 from approximately 1 mm away from the lash root through to the tips, ensuring each lash is evenly saturated. Check the lashes regularly for readiness.
7. Remove Step 1 – Lifting Solution with Cysteamine
Once the processing time is complete and the lashes have processed correctly, gently remove the Lifting Solution using a clean, dry applicator brush. Follow with a slightly damp cotton bud, ensuring all visible product has been removed.
8. Select the finishing shield
Choose the shield that will create your client’s desired result and secure it onto the eyelid.
Use your preferred wrapping tool to carefully separate and reposition the lashes so they sit tightly against the shield. If the lashes remain in position naturally, you may not wish to mix in the Lifted Powder or use an adhesive for Step 2.
9A. Apply Step 2 – Fixing Solution. WITH LASH LIFT POWDER.
[If you are not using powder for Step 2, go to 9B]
Dispense and mix the recommended ratio of Lifted. Lash Lift Powder with Step 2 into a clean palette or mixing dish. Refer to the mixing ratio.
Start your processing timer.
Using an applicator brush, apply Step 2 from approximately 1 mm away from the lash root through to the tips, ensuring every lash is evenly saturated.
OR
9B. Apply Step 2 – Fixing Solution. WITHOUT LASH LIFT POWDER.
Dispense a small amount of Step 2 – Fixing Solution into a palette or mixing dish.
Using an applicator brush, apply Step 2 from approximately 1 mm away from the lash root through to the tips, ensuring every lash is evenly saturated. timings
10. Remove Step 2 – Fixing Solution
Once the processing time is complete, gently remove the Fixing Solution using a clean, dry applicator brush. Follow with a damp cotton bud to remove any remaining product.
Ensure all traces of the solution have been removed, as this fully neutralises the lashes, sets the new shape and prepares them for tinting.
11. Prepare the tint
Mix the lash tint and oxidiser thoroughly according to the manufacturer’s instructions until a smooth consistency is achieved.
12. Apply the tint
Using an applicator brush, apply a small amount of the mixed tint evenly to the lashes.
Take care to avoid getting any product into the client’s eyes.
Allow the tint to develop for 3–5 minutes, or according to the manufacturer’s recommended processing time.
13. Remove the tint and shields
Gently remove the excess tint using a dry cotton bud or applicator wand. Then cleanse the lashes thoroughly with a damp cotton bud or applicator wand to remove any excess product.
Carefully remove the shields and clean any remaining product off the lash line.
14. Apply Step 3 – Enriching Solution
Apply Step 3 – Enrich evenly through the lashes to help rehydrate and nourish the hair.
Brush the lashes with a clean mascara wand to separate them and create a soft, fluffy finish.
Advise the client to leave the product on the lashes for a minimum of 4 hours to allow the nourishing ingredients to absorb fully.
15. Complete the treatment
Give the client a handheld mirror to see their finished results. Provide the appropriate aftercare advice and rebook their next appointment.

Korean Hybrid Method Lash Lift Step-by-Step
1. Prepare your workstation
Set up your lash trolley with everything you need for your client. Wash and sanitise your hands.
2. Position your client
Ensure your client is lying comfortably on the treatment couch in the correct position. For additional comfort, place a wedge under their knees to support their lower back, as they will be lying down for an extended period.
3. Cleanse the lashes
Cleanse the eye area and natural lashes using lash shampoo or a Lifted Cleansing Pad to remove any dirt, oil or makeup residue. Dry lashes with a tissue or fan until fully dry.
4. Apply the eye pads
Ask your client to look upwards.
Position the eye pads securely over the lower lashes to protect the eyes and lower lashes.
Optional: Apply Barrier Balm

6A. Wrap the lashes onto the shield and apply Step 1 – Lifting Solution with Cysteamine. ADHESIVE BALM.

Apply a small amount of Adhesive Balm to the shield.
Using the Double-Ended Y Tool, gently lift the lashes from the root and wrap them onto the shield. Ensure all lashes are straight, evenly spaced and free from crossing.
Dispense a small amount of Step 1 – Lifting Solution into a palette or mixing dish. Start your processing timer now that you are about to apply the solution.
Using an applicator wand, apply Step 1 from approximately 1 mm away from the lash root through to the tips, ensuring each lash is evenly saturated. Check the lashes regularly for readiness.

Using the Double-Ended Y Tool, gently lift the lashes from the root and wrap them onto the shield. Ensure all lashes are straight, evenly spaced and free from crossing.
Using an applicator wand, apply Step 1 from approximately 1 mm away from the lash root through to the tips, ensuring each lash is evenly saturated. Check the lashes regularly for readiness. timings
7. Remove Step 1 – Lifting Solution with Cysteamine
Once the processing time is complete and the lashes have processed correctly, gently remove the Lifting Solution using a clean, dry applicator brush.
Follow with a slightly damp cotton bud, ensuring all visible product has been removed.
8. Check and realign the lashes
During Step 1, the lashes may stretch slightly and change position. Before applying the Fixing Solution, carefully check the lash alignment.
Use your preferred wrapping tool to secure the lashes back onto the shield if any have become ‘unstuck’. Carefully separate and reposition the lashes so they sit tightly against the shield.If the lashes remain in position naturally, you may not wish to mix in the Lifted Powder or use an adhesive for Step 2.
9A. Apply Step 2 – Fixing Solution. WITH LASH LIFT POWDER.
[If you are not using Lash Lift Powder, go to 9B]
Dispense and mix the recommended ratio of Lifted. Lash Lift Powder with Step 2 into a clean palette or mixing dish. Refer to the mixing ratio
Start your processing timer.
Using an applicator brush, apply Step 2 from approximately 1 mm away from the lash root through to the tips, ensuring every lash is evenly saturated.
OR

Follow with a damp cotton bud to remove any remaining product.

Brow Lamination Step-by-Step
1. Prepare your workstation
Set up your trolley with everything you need for your client. Wash and sanitise your hands.
2. Position your client
Ensure your client is lying comfortably on the treatment couch in the correct position.
3. Cleanse the brows
Cleanse the brows thoroughly using Lifted. Cleansing Pads. Follow with Lifted. Lash & Brow Primer to remove any remaining dirt or oils. Ensure the brows are clean and dry before continuing.
4. Apply adhesive – Optional
If you wish to use adhesive, use a disposable applicator wand to apply a thin layer of Lifted. Adhesive to the first brow.
5. Position the brow hairs
Using a Y Comb, gently lift the brow hairs upwards and adjust their placement to achieve your desired shape. Repeat on the other brow.
6. Apply Step 1 – Lifting Solution with Cysteamine
Dispense Step 1 – Lifting Solution into a palette or mixing dish. Using an applicator wand, apply the solution evenly along the brow hairs. Leave Step 1 to process for 8–12 minutes, depending on the condition and thickness of the natural brow hairs.
Optional: Apply Lifting & Lamination Wrap - If using Lifted. Lifting & Lamination Wrap, apply a strip over the brows while Step 1 is processing. Be aware that using Lifting & Lamination Wrap will speed up the Lifted. process and should be avoided if the brow hairs are damaged.
7. Remove Step 1 – Lifting Solution with Cysteamine
Once processed, remove all traces of Step 1 using a dry cotton pad. Follow with a damp cotton pad to ensure all traces of the solution have been removed.
8. Reposition the brow hairs
Gently comb the brow hairs into their desired shape before applying Step 2.
9. Apply Step 2 – Fixing Solution
Dispense Step 2 – Fixing Solution into a clean palette or mixing dish. Apply evenly through the brow hairs and leave to process for approximately 6–9 minutes, depending on the condition of the natural brows.
10. Remove Step 2 – Fixing Solution
Once the processing time is complete, gently remove Step 2, ensuring all traces of the Fixing Solution have been removed.
11. Prepare and apply the tint – Optional
If tinting, mix Lifted. Tint with developer and apply to the brows using a flat or angled brush.
12. Remove the tint
Once the tint has processed, remove any excess tint using damp cotton pads.
13. Apply Step 3 – Enriching Solution
Pat the brows dry with a tissue. Dispense Step 3 – Enriching Solution and, using an applicator wand or Brow Lamination Brush, gently comb the product through the brow hairs. Advise the client to leave Step 3 on the brows for 12 hours.
14. Complete the treatment
Give the client a handheld mirror so they can see the finished results. Provide the appropriate aftercare advice and rebook their next appointment.

Patch Testing
Patch testing is an essential step when it comes to lash lifting and tinting. Reactions don’t always happen straight away, sensitivities and allergies can build up over time. This means clients who’ve had multiple treatments are actually more likely to react than someone having their first lash lift or tint.
Most insurance providers require it to help reduce the risk of allergic reactions after a full treatment.
Here’s how to carry out a patch test correctly:
1. Start with a consultation. Record the date of the patch test and where the product was applied.
2. Apply a small amount of each product to a suitable test area such as the inner wrist or inner elbow.
NOTE:
This should include Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, and tint mixed with oxidiser if tinting will be performed.
If using Lifted. Lash Lift Powder, mix it with either Step 1 or Step 2 as per your intended treatment method and include this in the patch test.
If an adhesive will be used during the service, this must also be patch tested.
3. Leave each product on the skin for approximately 10 minutes. Do not cover the area.
4. After 10 minutes, gently remove the products using a damp cotton pad.
5. Have the client sign to confirm the patch test was completed.
6. Monitor the area for 24–48 hours.
7. Mild redness may occur; however, raised skin, persistent redness, itching, burning, or irritation may indicate a sensitivity or allergic reaction. If any of these occur, the treatment should not be carried out.
8. If there is no reaction, when they return for their appointment, make sure they sign again and update the results.
Test results:
Let your client know that any reaction usually shows up within 24-48 hours.
Make sure you leave each product on the skin for approximately 10 minutes, uncovered, then remove.
Get your client to monitor the area for 24–48 hours.
Mild redness may occur; however, raised skin, persistent redness, itching, burning, or irritation may indicate a sensitivity or allergic reaction.
If any of these occur, your client should inform you and the treatment should not be carried out.
We recommend redoing patch tests if the client has not had a lash lift or brow lamination within a year.
