Sachets, Pumps or Tubes: What’s Best for Lash Lifts?

When it comes to lash lifts, whether you love a Korean lash lift or a traditional lash lift, the products you use make a huge difference.

One of the most common questions we are asked is, “Are sachets better than pump bottles?”

The truth is, both have their advantages, and the best option depends on how often you perform treatments.

LashBase in-house Expert Anna, explains in the video below.

Why many lash artists prefer sachets

Fresher product, more consistent results

Sachets are individually sealed until you open them, which helps preserve the freshness and strength of the solution. This means you can rely on consistent performance and reliable results from client to client.

When pierced carefully and resealed with tape, sachets are less prone to oxidising. However, we recommend using any opened sachets within two weeks for optimal results.

When pump bottles make sense

If you are a full-time lash lift artist, pump bottles can be a practical choice. Because you will be using the product frequently, there is less risk of it sitting unused for long periods. This allows you to benefit from the convenience and speed of pumps without worrying too much about the product’s shelf life or freshness.

What about Tubes or Pens?

Tubes and pens can offer a middle ground between sachets and pump bottles. They make it easy to dispense small, controlled amounts of product while limiting the amount of air that comes into contact with the solution.

That said, once opened, tubes & pens are not completely airtight. Over time, exposure to air and light can still cause oxidation, which may affect the strength and consistency of your solutions.

A look back at our journey

For those of you that are long-time supporters of LashBase, you will remember that when we launched Lifted. back in 2020, the solutions came in pump bottles. We soon realised there were issues, and as a brand that values transparency, we explained exactly why we decided to switch from bottles to sachets.

Most of our customers were not full-time lash lift artists, which meant the product in bottles was not being used quickly enough. Over time, exposure to air caused the solution to weaken, leading to inconsistent results.

Then, in October 2023, when we launched Lifted. Pro, we were convinced that having the solutions in pens would be the perfect answer, precise, mess-free, and professional-looking. However, we quickly discovered that this packaging also had its challenges, and we once again reverted back to sachets.

So, unless anyone has invented an airtight bottle, we will forever stay with sachets for Step 1 and Step 2.

Just for clarification, Step 3 does not need to be airtight and can be supplied in pump bottles.

Conclusion to 'Sachets vs Pumps: What is Best for Lash Lifts?'

When it comes to lash lifts, sachets remain the best option for most lash lift artists. They help maintain product freshness and ensure consistent results.

However, for full time lash lift artists who solely offer Lash Lifts (or Brow Laminations) and use their products quickly, pump bottles can still be a convenient and effective choice.

At LashBase, our decision to stay with sachets for Step 1 and Step 2 comes from experience and our commitment to quality. By choosing the right packaging for your workflow, you can achieve beautiful, reliable lash lift results every time.
