5 Most Frequently Asked Questions about Lash Lifts
In today’s blog, we’re answering 5 of the most frequently asked questions about lash lifts.
Hopefully, this blog will help all the lash artists out there that get asked the below questions by their clients! Or if you’re someone who is interested in trying a lash lift but isn’t sure about the treatment.
Here’s everything you need to know…
What is a lash lift?
Lash lifts are a quick and low maintenance treatment to add volume, curl and length to the clients natural lashes. The lash artist will first apply a specially shaped silicone shield around the eye. This ensures the product used in the treatment does not touch the sensitive area around the eye.
To give the clients lashes that desired length and volume, an eye-safe adhesive is then applied to the top of the pad, the lashes are then brushed upwards and adhered to the shield. Next, the lash-lifting solution is applied. This solution softens the bonds of the hair, moulding it into the shape. Once these steps are completed, the adhesive will be carefully removed, and the lashes will be lifted!
How long will a lash lift last?
A lash lift will last between 6-8 weeks and there is no need for any maintenance appointment in between treatments! As with every lash treatment, results can vary from person to person, and some activities, including swimming for example, can cause the bonds in the lashes to prematurely weaken.
Will a lash lift hurt?
Not at all. A lash lift is a totally painless, non-invasive treatment. The client will have to have their eyes closed for around 45 minutes whilst the treatment is taking place.
Is a lash lift safe?
Yes a lash lift is safe! The chemical procedure used as part of the lash lift treatment is tested under such strict regulations that it's nothing but fit for purpose.
The client will need a patch test 48 hours prior to the treatment.
Will a lash lift damage the natural lashes?
No. If the products are applied correctly by a trained lash artist, there will be no damage to the natural lashes. The chemical procedure used in the lash lift is safe for the natural lashes, and will leave them beautifully curled and lifted.
