Why it's important to shake your adhesive

Have you ever gone to use your Lash Adhesive and it appears to come out grey, speckled or even clear? Do you think that you might have a problem or that it's gone off?

If you have answered yes to the above questions, then we have the solution for you!

You need to shake your adhesive!

We talk about the importance of shaking your adhesive all the time, but we have a good reason! If you don't shake your adhesive, like vigorously shake your adhesive, the ingredients inside will not mix properly. If the ingredients do not mix properly, the adhesive will not work as it is supposed to. This will then mean poor retention for your client and their lashes.

The below video demonstrates the difference:

If your adhesive is not properly mixed, it'll be grey, speckled or clear. The reason it is clear/grey is because the carbon black colouring in the adhesive has settled at the bottom. This means that although the adhesive appears "off", it would still work perfectly. The problem arises when you use up all the clear stuff (Cyanoacrylate) and the carbon black colour is all that's left. You will think that you are using normal adhesive, but instead, it'll just be carbon black colouring. Which again will mean zero retention.

How to shake your adhesive:

Use a lash adhesive shaker for 3 seconds. Shake your adhesive VIGOROUSLY for 30 seconds to 1 minute each time you use it. You really do need to give it a good mix. This goes for ALL lash adhesives. If you don't want to shake your adhesive by hand, you can use a LashBase Handheld Shaker instead which does all the hard work for you.
